Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is hiring a Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for a full-time role. You will evaluate patients with GI, pancreatic, and hepatobiliary conditions, develop treatment plans, order tests, and coordinate care with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP/PA program.
• Current state licensure as NP or PA.
• National board certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA, or equivalent)
• DEA registration and prescriptive authority
• BLS certification
• Knowledge of GI diseases and current guidelines
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong collaboration and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage common GI conditions and coordinate care.
• Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory, imaging, and pathology results.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and monitor responses per state regulations.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure evaluation for endoscopic procedures.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, nutrition, and preventive care.
• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with other specialists.
• Document encounters promptly in the EMR.
• Participate in quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
