Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider specialized in gastroenterology to support the Digest & Liver team in delivering comprehensive patient care. You will collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to diagnose, treat, and manage complex GI cases.

Responsibilities include developing treatment plans, performing advanced procedures as needed, and participating in ongoing quality initiatives and clinical research to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or higher and Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
• Master’s degree from ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and treats critically ill patients, develops and manages treatment plans.
• Develops and implements treatment plans for patients.
• Conducts and documents comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status.
• Synthesizes data and utilizes evidence to develop, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care.
• Demonstrates proficiency in technical/procedural skills as appropriate.
• Provides counseling and education to patients and families related to current care and preventive health measures.
• Participates in quality initiatives and research protocols; applies evidence-based practices to patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Master’s degree in nursing or higher degree and TX BON authorization

ARC-PA accredited PA program master’s degree
