Job summary

Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston, TX is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to join a thriving Northwest Houston practice. This role combines inpatient and outpatient care with dedicated clinic and endoscopy/procedure time, and paid call coverage.

Candidates must have broad GI expertise, strong clinical and communication skills, and eligibility for Texas medical licensure.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in gastroenterology.
• Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Texas medical license.
• Excellent clinical and communication skills.
• Experienced physicians and graduating fellows are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat GI disorders including GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures: EGD, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy.
• Evaluate and manage patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with PCPs, surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists to optimize outcomes.
• Participate in hospital consults, emergency coverage, and call rotation.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and preventive care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders, including GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and other acute and chronic GI conditions
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including:
  • Upper endoscopy (EGD)
  • Colonoscopy
  • Flexible sigmoidoscopy
• Evaluate and manage patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Collaborate with primary care physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in hospital consults, emergency coverage, and call rotation responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and preventive care strategies
