Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an experienced Gastroenterologist-Hepatologist for the North Florida/South Georgia VA Healthcare System. The physician will provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services with emphasis on hepatology, contribute to quality care standards, and participate in academic hospital growth.

The ideal candidate communicates well, is a team player, and meets basic requirements for VA physician appointments, including licensure

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an approved school
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the US
• Residency in an accredited core gastroenterology training program
• Board certification in Gastroenterology preferred for faculty status

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient GI consult services with focus on hepatology
• Perform standard GI procedures such as EGD and colonoscopies
• Supervise medical students, residents and/or fellows
• Collaborate with gastroenterology APCs and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care
