Montefiore Medical Center's Gastroenterology Department

Montefiore Medical Center's distinguished Gastroenterologists perform approximately 14,000 procedures annually, utilizing advanced endoscopy and colonoscopy technology to treat digestive system disorders. Our researchers provide access to cutting-edge technology, treatments, and diagnostics, especially for colorectal and liver cancer. We are seeking to expand our team of 12 full-time Gastroenterology faculty and 1 nurse practitioner at our Weiler campus, with plans to hire 1-2 Physician Assistants in the coming months.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of GI procedures, including colonoscopy, polyp removal, upper endoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, liver biopsy, capsule endoscopy, reflux therapy, and motility services.
• Thoroughly evaluate each patient, educate about their condition and treatment options, and develop treatment plans.
• Manage inpatient consults, which are staffed by GI fellows and supervised by faculty, with an average of 3-8 new consults daily.
• Participate in inpatient consult service coverage 5-6 weeks per year and fellow endoscopy sessions 1-2 days weekly.
• Provide outpatient care at modern ambulatory sites and endoscopy centers.

Qualifications

Advanced therapeutics experience is welcome but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

Offering a competitive salary of $400,000-$420,000, with potential for additional income through productivity incentives. Benefits include LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision, and a 403(b) plan.
