Job description

Position: Physician in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Henry Ford Health is seeking an additional physician for the section of Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy.

Qualifications: Advanced endoscopic training and proficiency in endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, endoscopic mucosal resection, enteral stenting, and related therapeutic procedures.

Responsibilities: Manage a high-volume practice as a full-time therapeutic endoscopist, handling tertiary and quaternary care patients and procedures in outpatient and inpatient settings. Participate in a week-long consultative service rotation with seven other full-time therapeutic endoscopists.

While a specific academic or clinical subspecialty is not required, candidates are encouraged to develop a particular area of interest that they can cultivate, supported by the team. The role involves contributing to the education of future gastroenterologists and therapeutic endoscopists, including training one advanced endoscopy fellow per year.

We value collaboration and collegiality, working closely with colleagues in surgery, oncology, and other specialties. The team is focused on growth and expansion at our Detroit location and satellites in West Bloomfield and Wyandotte.

Division Overview:

• Employs 47 physicians and 15 Advanced Practice Providers.
• Provides outpatient and inpatient services at Henry Ford Hospital, Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, and seven suburban satellites.
• Includes subspecialties such as IBD, Hepatology, Liver and Intestinal Transplantation, Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, Functional Bowel Disease, and Motility.
• Offers fellowship training for 15 GI fellows, including in Advanced Therapeutics and Transplant Hepatology.
• Active research portfolio in GI, Hepatology, and Transplant disorders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Completion of an ACGME-approved Internal Medicine residency program.
• Completion or current enrollment in an ACGME-approved Gastroenterology fellowship program.
