The role involves comprehensive gastroenterology care in an established hospital-based setting, delivering high-quality patient-centered care in both inpatient and outpatient contexts.

Candidates must complete an Internal Medicine residency and a Gastroenterology fellowship, be board-certified/board-eligible,

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of accredited Internal Medicine residency.
• Completion of accredited Gastroenterology fellowship.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Eligible for or active Maine medical license.
• DEA registration.
• BLS and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including: EGD, colonoscopy, biopsy and polypectomy, hemostasis and dilation, PEG placement.
• Diagnose and manage GI conditions including IBD, GERD, liver disease, hepatitis, pancreatic disorders, GI bleeding.
• Participate in a shared call schedule.

This position offers the opportunity to practice comprehensive gastroenterology in a collaborative hospital-based environment, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Collaboration & Quality

• Collaborate with hospitalists, surgeons, oncology, radiology, and primary care teams
• Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and patient safety initiatives

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $527,0000 to $$594,000. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
