Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Gastro Clinic LPN to provide essential nursing care in our gastroenterology clinic, supporting physicians during examinations and procedures, administering medications, and educating patients on GI conditions. You will document patient information and care, triage needs, and coordinate with providers to ensure timely, accurate records and high-quality GI care.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program, WA LPN

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program and one year of related work experience.
• Licensed Practical Nurse: WA
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-admit nursing care by telephone, including patient interviews, initial assessments, and accurate nursing documentation within LPN scope of practice.
• Collect and document essential patient information, including weight, allergies, current medications, presenting concerns, and relevant medical history.
• Triage patient needs, recognize urgent or emergent conditions, and promptly communicate changes in patient status to the appropriate provider.
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient assessments, examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Coordinate patient care by assessing patient and family needs, communicating with providers, monitoring records for completeness, and ensuring timely, accurate documentation.
• Educate patients on gastrointestinal conditions, treatments, pre-admit instructions, and preventative care while evaluating understanding and supporting compliance.
