Job summary

Greif is seeking a production associate to operate routine machinery according to prints and specifications. You will measure parts with precision tools, maintain production logs, and report any rejected items while keeping a clean, safe work area.

You will follow safety regulations and perform duties as assigned to meet daily production standards, with opportunities for short‑term incentives based on performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operates routine production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications provided.
  • Carry out routine activities that produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
  • Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
  • Maintains logs and records of units produced; reports any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
  • Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Follows safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Duties and Expectations
  • Mix compound to proper viscosity.
  • Set up rubber gasket machine for proper diameter and material.
  • Obtain skid covers from storage and prepare them on the rotary table.
  • Apply the correct amount of rubber gasket compound into the groove of each cover.
  • Remove covers from the rotary table and place them on the oven conveyor with spacers.
  • Slide stack of covers into the oven.
  • Periodically weigh the compound to determine if the gasket thickness is to specification.
  • Remove covers and spacers, then stack completed covers on skid.
  • Truck skid of completed covers to storage.
  • Remove minor jams as they occur and report irregularities to the supervisor.
  • Remove defective gasket from cover; clean cover for re‑use when necessary.
  • Report to supervisor at once any improper functioning of the machine or unsatisfactory quality of the product.
  • Clean compound guns and lines at end of each run.
  • Meet production standards set for this area.
  • Visually inspect covers and gasket material and discard defective ones.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Perform all other detail duties necessary to meet requirements for production standards.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner per the JSA.
Education and Experience

Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.
  • Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
  • Fundamental understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
Compensation

The pay for this position is $23.05 per hour. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
