Job summary

Ameren Illinois is hiring an Apprentice Gas Apprentice to learn the gas utility trade in Illinois. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CAST test, and the ability to obtain a CDL and respirator qualification. Welding, pipefitting, HVAC or excavating experience is a plus.

Must be able to work with the public, with shift work and overtime. Driver’s license tests may apply. Position is covered by the IBEW agreement and located within 25 miles of the service center; relocation

• Gas Evaluations must be completed.
• Behavioral Interview will be conducted.
• Must be able to obtain CDL and become respirator qualified.

• Must pass the CAST test and related state/federal requirements.
• Gas Evaluations must be completed successfully.
• IBEW bargaining agreement applies.

Apprentice Gas Apprentice

• High School diploma or equivalent
• CAST test

• Must be able to obtain CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and must become respirator qualified.
• Welding, pipefitting, HVAC and/or excavating equipment operation experience preferred.
• Candidate must be able to work with the public, and be readily available for shift work and overtime.
• Must pass the Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) test [Note: See "Employment Testing" section on www.ameren.com under the "Careers" section].
• Successful completion of Gas Evaluations
• As a condition of acceptance on this job, candidates who are otherwise qualified will be required to take and pass the appropriate State/Federal driver's licensing requirements, physical and drug screening.
• This position is covered by the IBEW bargaining agreement.
• Must live within 25 miles of the service center. Candidates who are willing to move within 25 miles of the Service Center at their own expense will be considered.

Hourly Pay: Grade Step DA 091 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - 43.00 USD
