Qualifications

• 1+ years of related experience preferred but not required.
• Valid and clean driver’s license required.
• Willing to pass a drug and alcohol test (pre-employment and random).
• Willing to complete online training and pipeline safety training programs.

Responsibilities

• Respond to various work orders.
• Conduct leak surveys, inspections, and compliance-related tasks.
• Perform annual maintenance of pipelines and facilities.
• Install and remove meters.
• Read meters and install ERTs.
• Install pipelines, taps, and services.
• Oversee and inspect sub-contractors on assigned projects.
• Maintain company vehicle and equipment.
• Complete necessary paperwork for daily tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotation/emergency call outs.

Gas Utility Technician

We operate and maintain Natural Gas service for several Utilities and Cooperatives throughout Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. UPL offers a full range of services in the natural gas industry including engineering, installing, maintaining, and operating natural gas distribution systems, all upheld to the highest standards in the industry.

Job Summary

Utility Pipeline Ltd. (Appalachian Natural Gas Distribution Company) is searching for a Gas Utility Technician who would primarily operate throughout Hillsville, Galax, and Floyd in Carroll County, Virginia. Ideally, this person would be located in Hillsville or surrounding areas. The office/shop is located in Hillsville and this individual would report daily to that location. Experience in the Natural Gas Distribution field is a plus. This is a full time position with benefits.
