Job summary

USIC is hiring Utility Inspection Technicians to inspect gas meters for leaks and corrosion in the Toledo, OH area. You will perform visual inspections and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately, reporting to your work area on time for each shift.

We offer 100% paid training, a company vehicle with fuel card, and a comprehensive benefits package. Weekend work may be required and overtime is possible.

Qualifications

• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• Ability to use simple hand tools.
• Ability to read a utility map.

Responsibilities

• Inspect gas meters for leaks and corrosion.
• Complete required inspection paperwork/data.
• Report to work area on time at the start of each shift and follow safety procedures.
• Identify abnormal operating conditions during inspections.
