Job summary
Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a field technician for Rockledge, FL to complete gas service orders, read meters and perform safety checks on gas systems. You will use locating equipment and hand tools to install devices like ERTs and handle field documentation.
Overtime and overtime-related tasks are part of the role. The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and a valid non-CDL driver's license.
Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED.
- Valid Driver's License (NON CDL).
Responsibilities
- Works assigned route to complete customer and compliance orders in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures
- Deactivates gas service
- Conducts regular meter inspections and maintenance of above and below ground gas systems
- Completes assigned tasks using pipeline locating equipment and appropriate hand tools
- Installs Encoder Receiver Transmitters (ERT) and performs collection duties as assigned
- Identifies abnormal operating conditions, takes appropriate actions, and performs miscellaneous inspections as required
- Captures work order documentation on the company-provided technology accurately
- Required to work overtime as needed
- Reads Meters
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
