Job summary

Allied Staff Augmentation Partners, Inc. ( ASAP, Inc. ) is seeking a Senior Repair Engineer in Euless, TX to lead overhaul of customer capital components from quoting to inspection, ensuring compliance with industry and OEM standards.

You will provide hands-on leadership and project management across repair activities for turbomachinery, applying metallurgy, CAD/FEA skills, and rigorous quality practices to deliver reliable, safe, and value-adding solutions for customers.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, metallurgy, a technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years of turbomachinery experience focusing on combustion and/or hot gas path components; turbine design/operation knowledge.

Job description

The Senior Repair Engineering Role will develop repair solutions and ensure the technical integrity of all work meets or exceeds customer expectations and is performed under industry and applicable OEM standards. The right candidate will provide hands on leadership and project management of all aspects of the overhaul of customer capital components from quoting to inspection, scope development, repair and final inspection.

Role Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence.
• Provide technical input and oversite of projects including quoting, planning, preparation, and execution of gas turbine combustion and hot gas path components repairs.
• Review customer specifications as required and provide comments and exceptions to quality, inspection, and testing related items.
• Lead re-occurring customer status calls, customer witness inspections and tests, as necessary.
• Lead the development and implementation of continuous improvement activities including establishing best practices, standard work instructions, safety culture and habits, and good housekeeping techniques.
• Apply engineering and metallurgical principles in the development of repair recommendations for turbomachinery.
• Ensure repair processes maintain and restore component metallurgical properties to ensure repair integrity throughout component repair.
• Provide technical oversight and in process dispositions for ongoing repair projects.
• Ensure the technical integrity of work performed in the repair shop and ensure value addition in order to improve current methods and processes.
• Support and lead reverse engineering of turbine components to achieve the successful completion of component repairs.
• Execute service engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, CAD and criteria which may involve independent action and decision.
• Performs liaison functions with other engineering team members on the specification, manufacturing, assembly, material quality, testing, repair, performance and operation of repair offerings.

Role Requirements

• Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
• Possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, metallurgy, a technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Required minimum 5 years of experience supporting turbomachinery with a focus on combustion and/or hot gas path components and working knowledge of turbine design and/or operation.
• Direct experience with GE and/or Westinghouse legacy frame components (e.g., Frame 5/6/7) hot section hardware is preferred.
• Working knowledge of component wear and failure modes (e.g., cracking, oxidation, corrosion, coating loss) and how they inform inspection and disposition.
• Working knowledge of repair methods such as machining, welding, coating, assembly and dis-assembly for turbine equipment (blades, impellers, rotors, casings, assembled units) across various OEMs.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, material selection, heat treatments.
• Basic knowledge of non-destructive inspection and testing techniques.
• Knowledge of standard drawing symbols and tolerances (GD&T). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and repair procedures.
• Basic CAD and FEA abilities / experience. Solidworks experience is a plus.
• Highly effective people skills with demonstrated ability to work on teams and with diverse workgroups including craft-persons, vendors, and various engineering disciplines.
