Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a hands‑on Gas Turbine Mechanic for the 2nd shift to assemble and maintain gas turbine components. You will apply mechanical aptitude, follow detailed work instructions, and assist the team to meet quality, safety, and productivity targets.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, a high school diploma, and welding qualifications, with a focus on following procedures and using PPE in an industrial setting. This position is on-site in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant mechanical/industrial experience.
• Strong mechanical background with hands-on experience using tools for assembly.
• Welding tests and qualifications completed successfully.
• Ability to follow standardized work instructions with attention to detail.
• Work safely in an industrial environment using PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Guide and support others during work efforts.
• Operate forklifts and department equipment per safety and training.
• Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and procedures for accurate assembly.
• Support general shop activities including material handling and equipment setup.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area per HSE standards.
• Align activities with company policies, quality requirements, and core values.
