Job summary

PDS Tech, Inc. in Greenville, SC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer IV / Design Liaison Engineer to bridge engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain for gas turbine hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience designing gas turbine hardware, rotating equipment, or hot gas path components.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, coatings, and production methods.
• Experience dispositioning non-conforming hardware through engineering evaluations and corrective actions.
• Familiarity with: Finite Element Analysis (FEA), solid modeling software, GD&T, BOMs, and engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Global Supply Chain and cross-functional teams to resolve hardware non-conformances.
• Perform engineering assessments and disposition deviating hardware.
• Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM), lean manufacturing initiatives, and concurrent engineering efforts.
• Drive process improvements focused on quality, cost reduction, and production efficiency.
• Support qualification activities for new manufacturing processes, equipment, and process changes.
• Apply engineering expertise to improve part functionality, add value, and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams on advanced processes such as castings, coatings, drilling operations, and other special processes.
• Review engineering drawings, bills of materials, and GD&T requirements to ensure manufacturability.
• Utilize analytical tools, FEA, solid modeling, and engineering assessments to support technical decision-making.
• Work closely with global stakeholders to maintain production flow while ensuring the highest quality standards.
• Help solve critical manufacturing and quality challenges involving hot gas path components and related systems.
