Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Tuning Engineer in Orlando, FL. You will apply advanced controls engineering to startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of Mitsubishi gas turbines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year institution with 3+ years of relevant experience; or 5+ years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of combustion tuning processes and theory.
• Analytical and technical interpretation skills to read, analyze, and understand engineering documents.
• Effective written and verbal communication to internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.
• Proficiency with standard business and technical software.
• Travel up to 70% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Supports gas turbine commissioning and startup through verification and readiness activities.
• Performs combustion tuning on Mitsubishi J-Class turbines, including load overshoot mitigation and ignition tuning.
• Diagnoses combustion instabilities and dynamic performance issues.
• Uses tuning tools and CASS for data acquisition, analysis, and adjustments.
• Verifies control system functionality, including signals, loops, and HMI displays.
• Develops and troubleshoots DCS logic for commissioning and tuning.
• Performs instrument loop checks and validates setpoints against specs.
• Documents site conditions, tuning results, and recommendations in technical reports.
