Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division in Omaha, NE is seeking an Assembly Technician - Gas Switchgear to join our team. The role involves assembling and wiring medium voltage switchgear components and devices on a 6:00am–3:30pm shift.

The hourly rate is $19.00, with overtime as needed; relocation is not offered and you must reside within 50 miles of Omaha. Responsibilities include wiring, assembling to blueprints, wiring diagrams, and inspecting assemblies for quality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Reside within 50 miles of Omaha, NE facility; sponsorship not offered.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings or wire diagrams.
• Preferred: 1 year related electrical wiring experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install electrical metering, relaying and transformer components into medium voltage switchgear.
• Use hand/air tools, jigs, fixtures and gauges to perform repetitive and non-repetitive tasks.
• Position parts according to bill of materials and blueprints.
• Wire lugs, crimping with manual/automatic tools and crimpers/strippers.
• Follow point-to-point wiring diagrams and schematics for wiring installations.
• Work off ladders and in tight spaces while maintaining safety and quality.
• Support change notices, customer requests and development needs.
• Overtime, including weekends, may be required.
