Southern Cross is hiring a full-time Gas Leak Survey Technician in Arlington, Texas to inspect gas lines and identify the origin and severity of leaks. The role requires travel up to 75% and may include weekends, with a company vehicle for daily work.

Training lasts 4–5 weeks (paid) and covers detecting and classifying natural gas leaks, reporting findings to the local gas company, and working outdoors in all weather and environments.

What You Will DoSouthern Cross is hiring for a full-time Gas Leak Survey Technician to inspect gas lines and pipes to determine the origin and severity of a gas leak. As a Gas Leak Survey Technician, you will be trained to detect, locate, and evaluate gas leaks and report leaks to the local gas company. In this position you will drive a company vehicle. However, It may be required to have a reliable personal vehicle during training (typically 4-5 weeks) for daily work use.Training is typically 4-5 weeks (paid), learning how to accurately detect and classify natural gas leaks, walking 5 or more miles per day, working outdoors in all weather conditions and environments i.e.: in and around vehicular traffic, residential and commercial environments, rural environments including: tall grass, uneven walking areas, fields, city sidewalks, alley ways and at times encountering dogs and wildlife.Responsibilities & DutiesMust be flexible to travel up to 75% of the time including occasional weekends may be required.Ability to fly/drive anywhere in the U.S.Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot technology as needed.Ability to drive-in all-weather conditions.Adhere to all safety and quality policies and procedures.Must be able to learn training material in classroom format and/or online courses and be able to pass all qualification tests for this role.Physical and Additional RequirementsBending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per dayCarry a minimum of 20 lbs. of equipmentBe able to effectively communicate with customers in a courteous manner displaying excellent customer service and perform other duties as assignedObserve and follow all company/client proceduresBe available for overtime (which may include weekends)Be comfortable using computers/technologyWhat You Will EarnStarting pay is $20.25 per hour to start with an increase of .50 cents at 60 and 180 days.Comprehensive Benefits Package:Medical/Dental/Vision Plan & 401K, Accrued Paid Time Off (PTO) starting Day 1, Paid Holidays, Mileage Reimbursement or a Company VehicleEqual Opportunity EmployerSparus Holdings is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
