Job summary

Xcel Energy seeks a Staff Engineer in Denver to lead long-term planning for the natural gas distribution system, evaluating future scenarios and aligning investments with regulatory requirements and company strategy.

You will collaborate across the organization on traditional infrastructure and decarbonization opportunities, bringing strong utility planning experience and the ability to translate analyses into actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum.
• 2+ years relevant engineering experience.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred.
• PE may be required depending on business need.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of long-term strategic plans for the natural gas distribution system.
• Evaluate future planning scenarios and innovative solutions.
• Align investments with regulatory requirements and company strategy.
• Collaborate across the organization on traditional and decarbonization projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and staff.
