Job summary

Eversource Energy in Hyde Park, MA is hiring a Service Technician A (Gas Service Technician/Fitter) to install, repair and maintain gas meters, regulators, lines and appliances, and to test for gas leaks.

The role requires passing EEI CAST, pre-employment checks, a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of mechanical experience; outdoor work in all weather, and safe work habits.

Qualifications

• Must pass EEI CAST Test.
• Pre-screening and completion of company training programs.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test per DOT regulations.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational/mechanical/plumbing training preferred.
• Ability to work independently and outdoors in all weather; must be able to walk long distances with meters/tools.
• 2 years of related mechanical experience; gas utility experience preferred.
• History of safe working habits.

ROLE & SCOPE

The Gas Service Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining gas meters, regulators, gas lines and gas appliances.Testing for gas leaks.Working on boilers, ovens, gas fireplaces, gas-fired refrigerators, hydronic heating systems, and related. Installing and connecting appliances to gas, water, and electrical supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. 1. Must pass the EEI CAST Test.
2. 2. This position will require the satisfactory completion of a pre-screening (for new hires), completion of company training programs, evaluations and written test.
3. 3. Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment/pre-placement drug test in accordance with D.O.T regulations.
4. 4. Must possess a valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
5. 5. High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational, mechanical, or plumbing training is highly preferred
6. 6. Ability to work independently and outdoors in all types of varying weather conditions. Must be physically capable of walking long distances while carrying gas meters/tools.
7. 7. Must have 2 years of related mechanical experience, gas utility experience preferred.
8. 9. Must have a history of safe working habits.
