Job summary

Ameren Illinois is hiring for gas service duties, including responding to gas emergencies, setting and maintaining gas meters, and performing appliance-related pipe work on customer premises.

The role requires willingness to work day shifts Monday–Friday, overtime, and emergency call-outs, with residency within 25 miles of the operating area. CDL and respirator qualification are required, and CAST testing may apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Welding, pipefitting, HVAC and/or excavating equipment operation experience preferred.
• Must obtain CDL and respirator qualification.
• Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL license.
• Able to work with the public and be available for shift work and overtime.
• Must pass the CAST test and associated screenings.
• Must reside within 25 miles of the operating area.
• Position eligible for annual incentive payments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to gas emergencies including leaks, carbon monoxide, or fire calls.
• Set and maintain residential and large commercial gas meter installations.
• Perform pipe work on customer premises and work on gas appliances.
• Be willing to work shift, overtime, and emergency call-outs.
