Job summary

SCS Engineers is seeking a Plant Operator at a gas power plant in Elk River, MN. You will be responsible for the technical performance of the plant and reporting, with potential to serve as Plant Supervisor when needed, and you will work standard hours with on-call duties 24/7.

Responsibilities include supervising operations, directing staff, ensuring compliance and safety, and developing monthly reporting data.

Qualifications

• 2 years of mechanical plant operations or similar experience required.
• Advanced technical skills for mechanical and electrical equipment operation and maintenance.
• 40 hour Health & Safety training and related safety certifications.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical plans and specifications.
• Meet physical requirements for field inspection and equipment handling.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and manage plant operations ensuring efficiency, compliance and safety.
• Assist with directing operations staff within scope, schedules, budgets and reporting.
• Support Operations Manager to achieve revenue growth and profitability.
• Collaborate with Plant Managers/Operators and others on projects and changes.
• Prepare and submit monthly reporting data and maintain maintenance schedules.
• Perform plant operation and maintenance duties and implement corrective actions.
