Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Gas Engineering or related field.
• Two or more years of gas engineering experience and/or related work with a natural gas utility, including at least two years of system planning experience for a natural gas utility; or two years as a Gas Planning Engineer I and certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional and specialized engineering work related to gas infrastructure planning, operations, and the City’s natural gas systems.
• Learn and apply GasWorks software for system network analysis and master planning to meet forecasted needs.
• Develop cost estimates and budget input for short- and long-term gas system design and improvements.
