Job summary

National Fuel Gas Company is seeking a Meter Reader in our Erie Service Center, located at 225 Wayne St, Erie, PA 16507. The role operates in the Operations department, involving outdoor meter reading, data entry, and customer interaction.

The position requires a valid driver's license, a high school diploma, and a flexible schedule (Mon–Sat, 8:00 am–4:30 pm). Employment offers competitive hourly pay with additional incentive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to drive a small company truck or van.
• Basic literacy; ability to read, interpret, and document.
• Flexible schedule Monday–Saturday 8:00 am–4:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Read residential and commercial gas meters accurately and efficiently.
• Input meter readings into a handheld computer device.
• Work outdoors in all weather and walk long distances.
• Handle customer inquiries and perform collection work.
• Identify meter irregularities and report safety hazards.
• Work in potentially hazardous environments such as basements or rooftops.
