Precision Pipeline Solutions, LLC in New Windsor, New York is seeking a Meter Mechanic to restore gas and electric service after construction. The role requires basic gas pipe assembly and relighting appliances, with hands-on use of pipe wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers and adjustable wrenches.

You will communicate professionally with customers, follow written and oral instructions, and work in all weather. OQ training is provided, with potential for advancement to an A-Mechanic/First Responder

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must safely operate a motorized vehicle and comply with PPS safety rules.

Responsibilities

Meter Mechanic

• $25 - $32 based on experience

Meter Mechanic is responsible for turning utilities back on after construction. Basic gas pipe assembly and configuration along with knowledge on how to relight household and commercial appliances would allow us to fast-track any applicant to becoming a standalone mechanic. PPS is seeking individuals who have experience in handling light tooling such as pipe wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and adjustable wrenches. Experience in plumbing or HVAC is a serious plus.

• Pass and retain Operation Qualifications as set forth by standards employment is contingent on the passing of Operator Qualifications during training
• If any required OQ is failed upon requalification, the employee will be responsible to schedule training and testing which will be on their own time. In addition, the current pay rate will be decreased until all required OQs are obtained
• Possibility for internal growth, after successfully completing their initial training, qualified mechanics will have the opportunity to volunteer for A mechanic training (1st Responder).

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements. Ability to load, carry, lift, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Sitting or standing for prolonged period of time required. Must have the ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle.
• Complies with all safety rules and regulations set forth by PPS
