Job summary

Diamondback Energy is seeking a Gas Measurement Technician I to ensure accuracy and integrity of gas measurement equipment in the field. You will install, maintain, monitor, and analyze EFM data while supporting safety, environmental, and company policies.

Responsibilities include collecting EFM data, installing hardware/software, calibrating transducers, and troubleshooting data issues. Travel to field sites and on-call hours are required as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2+ years oil and gas experience.
  • Understanding of test vessels, piping, meters and O&G operations.
  • Ability to perform basic computer tasks and learn company apps.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and meet insurability for a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety and environmental policies.
  • Support supervisor and foreman with in-field measurement per policy.
  • Collect electronic flow measurement (EFM) data.
  • Install and configure EFM hardware and software.
  • Install/calibrate electronic transducers and automated valve equipment.
  • Monitor and analyze meter data and troubleshoot issues.
  • Communicate measurement discrepancies to relevant personnel.
  • Review measurement designs with Engineering for accuracy.
  • Respond to corrective work orders and track costs in Diamondback systems.
  • Provide vacation relief and cover non-traditional hours; travel to fields/training sites.

Job description

Gas Measurement Technician I

The Gas Measurement Technician I has the responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of gas measurement equipment. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, monitoring, analyzing, optimizing, and ensuring data integrity for production and sales measurement equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Support Measurement supervisor and production foreman with in-field measurement and applications per company policies and industry standards
  • Collect electronic flow measurement (EFM) data
  • Install and configure (EFM) hardware and software
  • Install/calibrate electronic transducers and automated valve equipment
  • Monitor and analyze production and sales meter data daily and troubleshoot upset conditions as needed
  • Contact appropriate personnel for measurement inaccuracies and ensure corrected data is input appropriately
  • Review measurement design and work with Engineering to ensure construction projects utilize field-friendly, accurate measurement
  • Respond to corrective work orders in a timely fashion and track results and all costs through Diamondback systems
  • Vacation relief for Measurement Tech's / Supervisor Work non-traditional and on-call hours, as needed (nights, weekends, etc.) Frequent travel to field locations training sites
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of (2+) years of oil and gas experience
  • Understanding of test vessels, piping, meters and O&G operations
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic computer skills and to learn company-specific applications
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Able to meet insurability standards to drive a company vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of a variety of EFM equipment: ABB, ROC, Fox Thermal, Scadapack
  • Knowledge of software: PCCU, Emerson Field tools, Realflo, FT4X View
  • Ability to communicate effectively among various teams
