Job summary

The City of Richmond, Virginia, is seeking qualified Gas Maintenance Technicians to join the Gas Distribution Division. You will install, maintain, and repair gas pipelines, respond to leaks, and perform OQ testing as part of emergency response and routine operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or vocational training, at least one year of related experience, and a valid Virginia driver's license. The role is essential and requires readiness to work during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training.
• One year of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience may be used to meet qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Respond to work orders for gas lines and shutdowns to ensure public safety.
• Perform gas line repairs, locate underground utilities, and install pipes.
• Complete and pass Operators Qualification tasks.
• Work within the Richmond Gas Works division and assist in maintenance and testing of gas systems.
