Job summary

USIC is seeking individuals for Advanced Gas Operations locator roles, performing underground utility mark-outs and gas line location in designated areas. You will work in the field with a company vehicle, receive paid training, and have access to the CPP and other employee benefits.

No prior locating experience is required, but travel, overtime, and on-call shifts may be needed. Excellent safety record and the ability to work outdoors are essential.

Qualifications

• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology and maps/prints reference.
• Basic math skills for distance calculations.
• Strong communication with colleagues, customers, contractors and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines in a designated area and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage.
• Some hand digging to unearth gas lines may be required.
• Follow all company, client, state, and federal damage prevention guidelines.
• May locate other utilities in addition to gas lines depending on project.
• Daytime, full-time with possible overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts.
