Job summary

Bermex is hiring a Gas Leak Survey Technician to perform field surveys of gas lines, meters, and surrounding areas using a Remote Methane Leak Detector. The role requires standing and walking long distances in various weather, reporting findings, and adhering to strict safety and regulatory guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year with a single employer or 6+ months outdoors, and a valid driver's license. OQ training will be provided after hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of continuous work with the same employer, and/or 6+ months working outdoors.
• Upon hire, complete Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Survey gas leaks by walking from site to site.
• Identify gas line locations following sketches and diagrams.
• Use a RLMD to detect natural gas leaks.
• Inspect gas meters, lines, and fittings for evidence of leaks.
• Grade leaks by severity and report or escalate as needed.
• Follow safety and regulatory procedures for surveying and reporting gas leaks.
