Job summary

City of Corpus Christi is seeking a Gas Technician I to support construction, maintenance and operation of the City’s gas distribution system. Under supervision, you perform semi-skilled labor and operate equipment, assist with mains, services and meters, and help with inspections and documentation.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, no prior experience required, and a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Supports construction, maintenance and operation of the gas distribution system.
• Operates and maintains semi-heavy equipment and trucks as directed.
• Assists in installing, repairing meters, mains and pipe fusions.
• Prepares inspection reports and documentation per procedures.
• Responds to emergencies and maintains safety practices.
