Hybrid Role: Must be able to come on-site periodically and reside within a commutable distance from the work location.

Job Summary

Intermediate level engineer responsible for independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Uses judgment in applying or recommending adaptations and modifications. Typical assignments include engineering or scientific design, problem solving, and technical support for the operation and maintenance of company assets. Collaborates with team members including field employees, technicians, and engineers.

Key Accountabilities
  • Performs engineering assignments and proposes solutions to engineering problems.
  • Works with experienced professionals to recommend and implement solutions involving routine engineering, design, operation, and maintenance of assets, as well as market optimization.
  • Collaborates with senior engineers for follow-up and technical support within time and budget constraints.
  • Develops models, analyzes data, and recommends process improvements; presents findings to management and external parties.
  • Provides field engineering assistance or technical support as needed.
  • Keeps up to date with current technology and market trends.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 0-4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Candidates expecting to obtain their degree within nine months of applying will be considered; verification required prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Experience with Natural Gas Customer Meter and Regulator station design
  • Experience with Synergi Gas hydraulic modeling software
  • Knowledge of DTE Gas’s natural gas distribution system
  • Part 192 Gas Distribution experience
Other Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
