Job summary

Delta Utilities Services, LLC is seeking a construction worker/maintenance mechanic to join a crew installing and repairing gas main and service lines in New Orleans. The role may be hired as a Helper through a Senior Level, with responsibilities including digging, shoring, leak repairs, and field testing.

Qualified candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and the ability to perform physical labor, follow safety rules, and work with lead mechanics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years Gas Service or Distribution experience for Helper level up to 5+ years Gas Mechanic for Sr level.
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious and able to work with lead mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Assist with gas distribution installation, repair and maintenance tasks.
• Dig, shoring, repair leaks, test and wrap pipe.
• Use hand and air tools in distribution activities while following safety rules.
• Take instruction from lead mechanics and support other crew members as required.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are stocked and organized.
