Job summary

CJ Hughes Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Gas Distribution Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The role involves operating excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other machinery on underground utility projects while coordinating with crew members for safe, efficient work.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of heavy equipment experience, with gas distribution or underground utility construction background, and a high school diploma or GED. OT and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years operating heavy equipment preferred.
• Experience in gas distribution or underground utility construction preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely (excavators, skid steers, loaders).
• Excavate around buried utilities with locator markings in view.
• Assist with trenching, pipe installation, backfilling and site prep.
