Kinder Morgan is seeking an entry‑level Gas Controller to operate the Tennessee Gas Pipeline system from Houston. You will monitor SCADA, respond to alarms, and coordinate with field crews to ensure safe, reliable gas transport in a structured, safety‑critical environment.

The role requires a high school diploma (bachelor’s in Math/CS/Engineering a plus) and the ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including nights and overtime. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering is a plus (not required).
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights and overtime, without undue safety risk.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time pipeline conditions across multiple SCADA screens; acknowledge and respond to alarms within required time limits.
• Start and stop compressors; open and close valves to change gas flow routes, isolate pipeline sections, and manage overall system balance.
• Communicate clearly with field technicians, controllers, schedulers, third parties, and customers.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with PHMSA requirements.
• Provide detailed shift handovers; participate in drills, training, and operator qualification programs.
• Adhere to fatigue risk management requirements.
• Operate safely and efficiently to meet customer and market demand.
