Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking a Field/Project Engineer to support gas construction projects, perform pre- and post-construction checks, and review As-Built drawings for accuracy. The role involves travel, coordination with multiple departments, and adherence to NEC regulations.

The position requires a BS in Engineering or Construction or equivalent experience, an EIT certificate is a plus, and a California driver’s license. CAD/SAP and strong communication skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction disciplines or equivalent experience.
• Must be 18+, possess a valid California driver's license.
• Supplemental education with physics, electricity, chemistry, math and surveying is preferred.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) may satisfy supplemental education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering services for gas construction projects.
• Conduct job reviews, pre-checks, site surveys and USA markings.
• Coordinate scheduled customer shutdowns and document BOM for As-Builts.
• Review regional As-Built packages for accuracy and support project closeout.
• Host project construction status meetings and assist scheduling.
