Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is seeking a hands-on technician to manage idle equipment through preservation, repair and redeployment. You will perform maintenance, reconfigure cylinders, and manage inventory while upholding safety policies.

Ideal candidates have mechanical aptitude, know-how with compression equipment, and the ability to work independently. The role requires valid driver’s license and willingness to work extended hours in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Technical or trade school certification or additional work experience in related field.
• Preferred at least 2 years of experience in natural gas compression.
• Valid driver’s license with a Motor Vehicle Record history acceptable to USA Compression.
• Good communication/interface skills with customer field personnel, onsite vendors, and other tech teams.
• Ability to operate independently with little or no supervision.
• High degree of mechanical ability.
• Experience reading and understanding technical manuals.
• Experience in configuring natural gas compression equipment.
• Ability to work extended hours.
• Ability to understand written and verbal communication from the company and supervisor including training, procedures, instructions, etc.
• Applicant must have the ability to legally work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all safety and environmental policies.
• Preserve and seal idle units as they return to the storage yards.
• Roll over and re-preserve units that remain idle on a 180 day rotation.
• Repair packages and make ready for redeployment into active status.
• Perform major and minor scheduled maintenance procedures on idle units as necessary.
• Reconfigure compressor cylinder arrangements as required to meet new contract needs.
• Repair and maintain the heavy equipment inventory (HEI).
• General housekeeping by helping to keep warehouse facilities and yards free from trash and debris.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of units as they enter and leave the storage yards.
• Safely operate truck mounted cranes, fork lifts and other portable lifting equipment.
• Maintain company vehicle according to company guidelines.
• Help maintain parts inventory for storage yards.
• Keep units clean and maintain safe working conditions.
• Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
• Full-time hourly position.
