Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Gas & Chemical Technician for solar cell production. The role focuses on safe receipt, distribution, monitoring, and recovery of process gases and wet chemicals used in high-volume solar cell production.

You will operate gas cabinets, monitor systems, and collaborate with engineering to maintain safety and yield. Requirements include 2+ years in a chemical handling environment, experience with hazardous gases, and familiarity with P&IDs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of hands-on chemical handling experience.
• Experience with flammable, toxic, or hazardous gases and chemicals preferred.
• Knowledge of gas delivery systems and safety interlocks.
• Experience in semiconductor, solar, or high-volume manufacturing.
• Able to read P&IDs and technical docs.
• Familiar with cleanroom protocols and gowning.
• Able to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Able to stand 6 hours, lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage the safe receipt, distribution, monitoring, storage, and recovery of process gases and wet chemicals used in high-volume solar cell production.
• Startup, shutdown, and monitoring of gas cabinets, chemical delivery systems, and abatement equipment.
• Identify process deviations and perform corrective actions to maintain parameters.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate gas and chemical handling equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop procedures and support root cause analysis.
• Safely handle, transport, and load hazardous chemicals and gases following safety protocols.
• Collect, segregate, and manage chemical waste streams.
• Track preventive maintenance and calibration of gas and chemical systems.
• Maintain inventory of consumables and spares.
• Uphold 5S and safety standards.
