Job summary

Central Hudson is seeking an Engineer to join the Gas Asset Strategy and Planning team. You will help ensure investments balance reliability, risk reduction, and affordability while meeting regulatory and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities include gas planning, system modeling, lifecycle maintenance, regulatory filings, and stakeholder engagement, translating strategy into data-driven roadmaps and actionable plans.

Qualifications

• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a safety focus.
• Self-starter with initiative to drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to voice opinions and lead discussions among industry groups.
• Flexible to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supports asset strategies for long-term capital and operational needs with focus on reliability and cost-effectiveness.
• Leads R&D initiatives by piloting emerging technologies and scaling successful solutions.
• Coordinates multi-year asset investment plans using risk, performance, and condition data.
• Facilitates lifecycle models and maintenance strategies; optimizes inspection programs.
• Provides strategic input for enterprise asset-management systems and data platforms.
• Partners with cross-functional teams to harmonize strategy into actionable roadmaps.
• Translates organizational objectives into actionable asset initiatives and R&D pilots.
• Conducts gas system planning and forecasting, including load growth and capacity needs.
• Develops regulatory filings and supports regulatory proceedings.
• Engages with stakeholders regarding system activities and long-term plans.
• Supports emergency storm restoration efforts.
