PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Practice safety rules.
2. Follow verbal and written instructions.
3. Use hand & power tools safely.
4. Report to and assist the immediate supervisor.
5. Perform quality work according to project specifications.
6. Be accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
7. Work well as part of a team.
8. Measure distances from grade stakes.
9. Drive stakes.
10. Stretch tight line.
11. Grade stacks from lumber for reuse.
12. Level earth to fine grade specifications with a shovel to assist in pipe laying and preparing subgrades and excavations.
13. Direct other laborers in dumping concrete into forms.
14. Erect shoring and braces, and paint pipe joints with sealing compound.
15. Assist in setting pumps and well-points.
16. Assist heavy construction equipment operators in aligning and moving equipment such as cranes, power shovels, and backhoes, verifying grades and signaling operators to adjust machines to conform to grade specifications.
17. Direct truck drivers and scraper operators to dumping positions to maintain grades as directed by the grading or dumping foreman.
18. Work in a concrete paving crew, adding or removing concrete to meet the correct grade.
19. Occasionally use small power tools.
20. May work as a lead man in a labor crew.
21. Exercise independent judgment to plan routine work, accept responsibility for multiple phases, and expedite work without detailed instructions.
22. Perform other related duties as required.
23. Comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy.
24. Pass physical examinations as necessary.
25. Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways.
26. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.
27. Carry up to 50 lbs. of tools or materials, with assistance recommended for heavier items.
28. Work standing or walking for long periods on uneven surfaces.
29. Work extended hours wearing PPE, including respirators when required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Some experience in industrial, construction, or general labor roles.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
• Completion of a New Hire Quiz.
• Must not pose a health or safety threat to oneself or others.
• Adherence to site safety requirements (e.g., PPE, attire).
• Use of safety equipment as required (hard hat, glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness).
