Race Forward's mission is to advance racial justice by supporting communities and public institutions to build a just, multiracial democratic society where people of color thrive with purpose and power.
Rooted in a deep understanding of systemic racism, our work supports stronger, more equitable governance that shifts power and transforms institutions. Race Forward imagines a future where communities of color lead in decision-making, public systems are accountable and just, and movements across sectors come together to create lasting and transformative change.
Since 1981, Race Forward has continued to develop innovative strategies that drive impact at the intersection of policy, culture, and institutional practice. In 2017, Race Forward united with the Center for Social Inclusion to become the new Race Forward, strengthening its commitment to advancing systems that truly work for everyone.
The Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE) is a national network of local and state government that supports racial equity practitioners within public agencies and institutions to design and implement strategies that serve to advance a more racially just and equitable society.
Specifically, GARE fosters critical connections among racial equity leaders and practitioners in order to develop and share skills, lessons and approaches to strengthen racial equity, policies, practices and cultural strategies within jurisdictions.
The GARE Network Impact Analyst supports and assists with development of platforms that constitute the GARE network's digital and data ecosystem, including day-to-day access and site administration of the GARE Online Community, a Higher Logic Thrive Online Community site that brings together thousands of racial equity practitioners working in government for peer interaction, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration. Specifically, the GARE Network Impact Analyst supports staff and end users, member groups, events, and resource libraries; provides technical support; assists with day-to-day community moderation and engagement; generates reports; synthesizes site data; creates data visualizations; and manages the transfer of engagement data within and between platforms.
This role is both interactive and technical - supporting access and providing technical and informational support to users, identifying and addressing issues, and appropriately engaging the Online Community Director, Director of Data and Insights, Race Forward Tech staff or other staff when needed.
This role also supports other aspects of the GARE membership process on both a jurisdictional and individual level. The GARE Network Impact Analyst utilizes the integrations between internal Race Forward systems to manage users through both the Online Community and Salesforce.
