Handcart Garden Center in Dade City, Florida is seeking a friendly Retail Garden Center Associate to join our outdoor-focused team. If you enjoy helping customers, plants, and nature, this is a great local opportunity.
Our associates are at the heart of the shopping experience, providing support for plant selections, product knowledge, and seasonal displays while maintaining a welcoming store environment.
Qualifications
- Friendly, positive attitude and strong customer service skills
- Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds (bags of soil, plants, etc.)
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Basic plant knowledge is a plus but not required (we are happy to train!)
- Retail or garden center experience is a bonus but not required
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
- Assist customers with plant selections, gardening products, and supplies
- Operate the register and assist with retail sales transactions
- Water plants and help maintain the health and appearance of nursery inventory
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise displays
- Assist with unloading plant shipments and moving inventory
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment
- Help load plants, soil, and supplies into customer vehicles when needed
- Support seasonal displays and promotions
