Job summary

LRS, an Indianapolis waste and recycling leader, is seeking a diligent teammate to ride with the refuse collection driver, assist on the route, read maps and route sheets, and operate collection equipment to ensure timely pickups.

The role requires performing daily vehicle inspections, fueling and fluid checks, and preparing service tickets and load reports. Candidates must be 18+, legally eligible to work in the U.S., fluent in English, and pass pre-employment testing. DOE, full-time, on-site.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years.
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
• Must be able to read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Ride along with driver to help pick up refuse on route.
• Read maps, diagrams and route sheet to follow a designated daily route.
• Operate controls and collection equipment.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections, fueling and fluid level checks.
• Complete required daily service tickets and reports.
• Report any mechanical problems with equipment.
• Complete daily reports, logs, load/yardage, and load ticket receipts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reports To

Operations Manager

• Ride along with driver to help pick up refuse on route
• Read maps, diagrams and route sheet in order to follow a designated daily route
• Ability to operate controls and collection equipment
• Complete daily vehicle inspections, fueling and fluid level checks
• Complete required daily service tickets and reports
• Report any mechanical programs with equipment
• Complete daily reports, logs, load/yardage, and load ticket receipts
• Other duties as assigned

• Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
• Possible exposure to high traffic conditions while outside of the vehicle.
