Job description

Seeking Class A or B CDL Garbage Truck Driver – $32 per hour. This is a full‑time, year‑round position.

Job Summary

The truck operator will be responsible for the operation of rear‑load and side‑arm refuse collection trucks servicing residential and commercial customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle safety and operation in pre‑checks of route.
• Drive on assigned route.
• Ensure that all totes are serviced and emptied.
• Collect refuse materials using automated or manual methods, including dismounting and remounting trucks as needed.
• Notify dispatchers and/or supervisors of delays, unsafe sites, accidents, breakdowns, or other issues.
• Operate machinery to hoist or compress refuse.
• Clean and perform post‑check inspection of vehicles at the end of the day.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Understand and follow directions.
• Adhere to safety standards and guidelines.
• Communicate well with supervisors, co‑workers and customers.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid Class A or B Driver’s License (required).
• Commercial driving experience: 1 year (preferred).

Additional Requirements

• Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post‑offer/pre‑employment medical screen, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and throwing.
• Must be able to lift up to 51 pounds at times.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Exposure to strong odors.
