Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions in San Diego, CA is hiring a Vehicle Transporter/Garage Support. You will transport vehicles, fuel and inspect, keep the shop clean, and assist with parts pick-up/delivery. This role operates Monday–Friday with a 2:00pm–10:30pm shift and offers weekly pay.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in an automotive repair environment in a support role.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to verify proper operation.

• Preferred: Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Transport vehicles and complete pre/post-trip inspections.
• Fuel fleet vehicles and maintain daily fueling logs.
• Replenish fuel, fluids, and tire air as needed.
• Manage parts inventory and handle parts pick-up/delivery.
• Perform light maintenance and maintain shop cleanliness.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.

This role supports the service shop with vehicle transporting, shop cleanliness, and parts pick-up/delivery.

Pay & Schedule

What You'll Do

Working Conditions

This role involves working in a mobile, outside and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces. This position requires regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment. Technicians may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms and must be able to safely perform duties in various weather conditions. Due to the active work environment and movement of large vehicles, the ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace is required.
