Job summary

Pike Corporation seeks a Garage Mechanic to support equipment across multiple locations in the region, with potential travel to another state based on customer needs. The role emphasizes safe repairs, diagnostics, and field maintenance of heavy and light equipment.

A CDL and own tools are required, plus ability to work overtime and weekends as needed. Candidate should be prepared for physically demanding work in varied environments, and have familiarity with hydraulics, diesel and gas engines,

Qualifications

• Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Requires 1-5 years of experience.
• Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Must have own general tools.
• Familiar with hydraulics, diesel/gas engines, chassis/suspension, welding/metal fabrication, small tool repair.
• Must be able to use a computer for diagnostics, inventory, and work orders.
• ASE/ Ford/ International/ Altec/ Telelect certifications or related experience are a plus.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and travel as required.

Position Summary

The Garage Mechanic position works at various locations. This position may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands.

Essential Functions

• Manage development of equipment in cities and states within region.
• Knowledge of the mechanics of equipment ranging from as large as a crane to as small as a chain saw.
• Work safely while performing repairs or maintenance in a garage and in the field in various weather conditions.
• Troubleshooting in various localities regarding equipment repair, maintenance and deployment.
• Frequently work around energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others while performing job.
• Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Does all other related work as required to complete the job

Minimum Requirements

• Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Requires 1-5 years of experience.
• Must have or able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Must have own general tools.
• Must be able to learn or perform work in the following disciplines:
• Hydraulics
• Diesel/gas engine – automatic
• Chassis and suspension
• Welding/metal fabrication
• Small tool repair
• Must know or be able to learn how to use a computer for:
• Diagnostics
• Equipment Inventory management
• Work Orders
• Certifications of Experiences in any of the following a plus:
• ASE certification
• Ford or international certifications
• Altec/Telelect
• Hydraulic maintenance
• Utility or construction jobs
• Able to work for extended periods throughout various locations, when required.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work over-time when requested.
• Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position.

Work Environment

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
