Job summary

Stellantis in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Prototype Garage Mechanic (SBU) to perform general mechanic work, diagnose all vehicle systems, and implement engineering changes during routine reworks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years in auto service, basic computer skills, and experience with diagnostic tools (CDA, Canalyzer). Teamwork and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills: MS Office, Teams, etc.
• Diagnostic tool capability (CDA, Canalyzer, etc.), wire harness fabrication and rework, reading schematics, utilize own tools.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and teamwork.
• Valid Driver’s License, no physical restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanic work and diagnostics on vehicle systems.
• Diagnose and service Engine/Transmission, electrical issues, and implement reworks to accommodate engineering changes.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure proper integration of changes.
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate findings effectively.

Prototype Garage Mechanic (SBU)

• Work to be performed consists of General Mechanic Knowledge
• Diagnostic of all vehicle systems, Engine/Transmission changes, Electrical diagnostics, and re-works to adapt engineering changes

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Auto Service
• Possess basic computer skills: MS Office, Teams, Etc.
• Diagnostic tool capability (CDA, Canalyzer, etc.) wire harness fabrication and rework, reading of schematics, utilize OWN tools
• Able to work in team environment
• Strong emphasis on excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and teamwork
• Valid Driver’s License, No Physical Restrictions

Preferred Qualifications

• S.E. certified
• Strong background in Fabrication
• Strong background in EV vehicle diagnostics
• Minimum of 3 years of auto dealership service experience
• Two-year technical degree in electronics, experience servicing vehicles
• Able to work Overtime and potential travel
