We are searching for a full-time, detail-oriented Garage Door Technician to join our team in our Columbus, OH. location. In this role, the Garage Door Technician is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing residential/commercial garage doors. The Garage Door Technician will also perform preventative maintenance and proactive repairs when needed. Other duties include taking measurements and assessing the needs of the customer before offering suggestions for door size, materials, and features.

Responsibilities:

  • Service/Repair/Install of garage doors.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the delivery process.
  • Assemble mechanical components or machine parts.
  • Repair or replace worn or broken door parts using hand tools.
  • Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning.
  • Test mechanical equipment to ensure its functioning properly and document.
  • Complete a 25-point Inspection on site.
  • Loading and unloading material
  • Trouble shoot and repair garage door openers.
  • Carry springs to tops of doors using ladders and attach springs to tracks to install spring systems.
  • Adhere to company’s safety rules and standards while using tools and ladders.
  • Perform IDA regulated repairs and installation of new parts.
  • Safe operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Collect payment from customers and obtain homeowner’s signature.
  • Adhere to technician process and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift or move heavy products.
  • Ability to operate powered equipment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice.
