Job description

A Garage Technician / Mechanic performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and other routine job functions assigned as needed to service the company fleet of diesel trucks.

Key Duties may include:

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and overhaul brake, HVAC, and major drive line component systems
• Diagnose and repair electrical, lighting, and onboard vehicle computer systems
• Provide breakdown support to drivers and other distribution center garage employees
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures to maintain the company fleet of diesel trucks per established procedures
• Accurately document all work performed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional shop environment
• Apply lean principles to eliminate waste in all areas of the position

YOU MUST HAVE

• At least 2 years of mechanic experience or technical school graduation
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Valid driver’s license

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

• Experience with manufacturer diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and repairs
• Support and leadership experience among technicians and mechanics
• Previous supervisory experience
• Strong teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
• Valid Class A CDL

ROLE SPECIFICS

• Schedule options include various night shifts, e.g., 4/10 hour nights Tue-Fri or Sat-Tue, 5/8 hour nights Mon-Fri, or 3/12 hour nights Fri-Sun
• Work outdoors and indoors in all weather conditions
• Regularly move and lift objects up to 75 pounds
• Stand and walk extensively on concrete surfaces
