Job Summary

We are seeking a highly capable Garage Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster to adjudicate commercial claims and provide superb results for our clients. The role is fully in-office; candidates must be able to work on-site at the designated company office during standard business hours.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Adjudicate Garage Bodily Injury claims of higher technical complexity under technical direction and within established limits and authority.
  • Resolve generalized issues that are not complex but require a broader understanding of related matters.
  • Conduct detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to resolve numerous and undefined issues.
  • Report to senior management and underwriters on claims trends and developments.
  • Identify loss drivers and trends to reduce claims frequency and severity through data analysis and improved claim management.
  • Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions, and other records to determine coverage applicability.
  • Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviewing all involved parties.
  • Manage claims in litigation, coordinating resources for case resolution.
  • Manage diaries in a timely and complete manner to ensure cases move toward the best financial outcome and resolution.
  • Set claim reserves appropriately.
  • Coordinate assignment and expertise resources to assist in case resolution.
  • Prepare reports for file documentation.
  • Apply creative solutions that result in the best financial outcome.
  • Negotiate in a timely and effective manner to provide cost‑effective solutions for the company and its customers, using a range of negotiation styles.
  • Process mail and prioritize workload.
  • Complete telephone calls and written correspondence to/from various parties (insured, claimant, etc.).
  • Demonstrate a strong claim management passion and customer focus.
Qualifications / Experience Required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience adjudicating first- and third-party commercial Garage Bodily Injury claims.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required, or two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Licensed Claims Examiner (or ability to obtain a license in each jurisdiction that requires a license within 120 days).
  • Excellent business acumen and understanding of how an insurance company operates.
  • Independent judgment with sound decision-making ability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Strong claim negotiation skills and proactive approach to negotiation.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to articulate financial value at multiple levels inside client businesses.
  • Strong execution focus and proven ability to deliver expected results.
  • Flexible, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients, business partners, and organizational peers.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to consider all options and avoid conventional thinking.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business-related software.
  • Polished and professional written and verbal communication.
  • Fluent reading and writing in English.
  • Desire for continued professional development through continuing education and self-development opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Guidewire.
Pay and Benefits

Base salary ranges (by location):
• Albany and Chicago – $86,000 – $101,500
• Los Angeles – $93,750 – $110,500
